The player can control one specific character in each level. Homer and Bart are played twice. When travelling on foot, the player character can walk, run, and perform three types of melee attacks: a normal kick, a jumping kick, and a smashing move. I finally fixed it by installing a different version of DirectX. This was enough to frustrate me and turn me off to the game. However it didn't stop my kids who I bought it for anyway.
They havn't stopped playing it for over a month. They even played it when turning right wasn't working. My son, 7, and my daughter 11 would spend every free minute playing it, if I didn't kick them off periodically. And they watch each other and scream when one accomplishes some feat.
I'd say it is a very entertaining game for the kids. I gave it less than 5 stars because of the trouble I had finding and installing the right DirectX driver and because I am not particurally facinated with the game myself. However the kids love it so much I couldn't really give it less than 4 stars. When my sons PS2 was sold. He wanted to get this game back so he got the PC version and it works perfectly on his Windows 7.

When opening the box, the first and second disc were loose due to the design of the case, but that's more of an issue with the game publisher and whoever they tasked with printing copies than anything.
Aside from some very minor scratches, the game discs were in excellent condition despite two of them becoming loose during shipping. I did encounter some issues during the game installation, and had to re-insert Disc 1 several times before the install went through, but after looking online and finding a thread detailing a similar issue, it seems like the disc install for this game is a bit finicky.
I was able to immediately fire up a new game without any compatibility tweaks or fixes. There is a mod manager that adds some new features to the game and fixes various bugs though, which I've since installed and have been having a blast with.
I'm looking forward to playing this game some more now that I have it installed! Report abuse. To all the ones who are asking how this is installed Have you ever installed a cracked game before? This is exactly like the old cracked games' days. Not sure what's wrong. Installed the game, got past the intro movie and options screen. But loading times are unworkably long! Waited about 10 minutes before giving up on the first loading screen. Something isn't right.
On Win UHhhhhh -1 point. I downloaded the Zip archive. There is no folder inside of CD1 called "Cracked". I have checked for hidden items and everything.
CanadianHolthe 19 points. To get the game to work. Once you have installed the 3 discs worth of files you will need to open the "drive" folder for disc one. It will have a cracked folder with an Application file. Keep this window open on the side.
Next right click the shortcut to open the game on your desktop, select the open file location tab. Next you will take the Application file from the cracked folder and drag it into the window with the main application files.
You will see a message asking if you want to replace the old file with the new one, click yes. From there once the application file is re-written you can close all the windows, and then rightclick the launch shortcut on the desktop. Enjoy hours of nostalgia and great fun with your favourite Simpsons Characters!! So excited to have this game again!! I don't know if i can share links here, but i will give it a try. I agree with a comment below, downloading was fine once i read some of the comments but it does not run correctly as others have described. The map will disappear along with characters during missions, i have also fallen out the the world and been unable to do some missions due to the map not loading. Durmu 3 points. I downloaded the game and I can start it and play, but it doesn't work like it should.
For example sometimes the map takes forever to load so I need to stop and wait for the road to get there, I can se the other cars just drive off to nowhere. And sometimes the car just gets thrown away from nowhere. Anyone got some tips? I see a lot of people say it works fine for them, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. If it doesn't, select "Open With When the installer prompts you to insert a different disc, mount that disc CD 1, 2, or 3. When it prompts you to install DirectX 8, select yes. Leave this mounted. Select "yes" if it asks to replace a file that is already there. You can create a new desktop shortcut of this.
JMAA 1 point. Holy Hell I have been up for nine and a half hours desperately trying to install this game, and it seems every time I get a little closer, Bang- something always is a miss. It feels one door and download requires another download and to view that download I have to download this etc etc And in the end my comp is filled with a lot of irrelevant stuff and my game still no closer to working!

If you go to file explorer and click on your mounted CD1, you should see a folder "Crack" at the top of the list of contents in your CD1 drive.
Open the "Crack" folder and it will have the Simpsons Application file. Next go to your shortcut on your desktop and right click on the icon. Select "Open File Location". Now you should have 2 windows open: 1 with crack application and 1 with file location of game. Simply drag and drop "Simpsons" Application file from the first window to the second window and when prompted "Replace file in location?
As for 11 and 12 on the list. All you need to do is right click again on the Shortcut for The Simpsons on your desktop. Select "Properties" Towards the bottom right Select "Advanced This is so you will not get stopped by the "Must run as Administrator" Prompt when just double clicking to boot the game. I got this game from this site and it seems to work fine for the pre-installed version. It just takes really long to load for some reason. A 0 point.
